Modeling the Impact of Vaccination for the Immunization Agenda 2030: Deaths averted due to vaccination against 14 pathogens in 194 countries from 2021 to 2030
The Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) Impact Goal 1.1. aims to estimate the potential impact of achieving the Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) immunization coverage targets on reducing future deaths globally. In this study, a demographic model was utilized to determine mortality estimates associated with vaccine coverage rates for various pathogens across 194 countries. The analysis projects an estimated 51.5 million deaths averted due to vaccinations between 2021 and 2030, with an average annual reduction of 5.2 million deaths. Measles and Hepatitis B were identified as the primary contributors to mortality reductions. The findings underscore the significant potential for mortality reduction through achieving IA2030 targets, particularly in low- and middle-income countries in the African region.
