Brave & Bold Blog: Leading Nurses Through Crises in Lebanon
The Sabin Vaccine Institute recently published a new article as part of their Brave & Bold series entitled, "Leading Nurses Through Crises in Lebanon," featuring the story of Boost member Rita Akiki. This article highlights Rita's challenging but rewarding work as Nursing Director at a hospital in Beirut, Lebanon during economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. She credits her work as a member and facilitator of Boost courses, including Storytelling for Change and Boosting Leadership to Activate Communities, with giving her the tools to deal with daily stressors and challenges in her work. With these skills, she has helped foster a collaborative work environment amongst her colleagues as well as helped to improve communication and trust with patients.
