Applications Open for Sabin's Social and Behavioral Research Grant Program

Published on May 27, 2021

The Sabin Vaccine Institute is pleased to announce the third iteration of the Social and Behavioral Research Grants Program, offering grant funding for projects exploring the social and behavioral dimensions of COVID-19 vaccination or routine immunization that contribute to vaccine acceptance in low- and middle-income countries and the solutions that might address them.

The 2021 Call for Proposals seeks to fund innovative and interdisciplinary projects comprised of principle investigators from both social and behavioral sciences and global health fields. Successful applicants will employ appropriate and rigorous research methods to explore the social and behavioral dimensions of vaccination at multiple levels and examine potential solutions to address them. Project teams will conduct research and implement solutions for up to 12 months beginning in September 2021. Awards will be made up to $50,000, dependent upon the project’s proposed budget. The application period will end on July 5, 2021, at 11:59 pm EST and award decisions will be announced in August.

As the world continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic and provide life-saving vaccines against the virus, Sabin is proud to support research that can inform locally suitable solutions to improve vaccine uptake and eliminate disease.
