Ful Morine’s journey in healthcare began in her childhood, shaped by her mother’s dedication to her vaccinations and her own experiences with malaria and limited healthcare access. In 2024, she spearheaded an integrated nutrition and immunization initiative in partnership with UNICEF to combat rising malnutrition and low vaccination rates. Despite security challenges, Ful engaged with armed groups to secure access to communities and coordinated door-to-door screenings for malnutrition and vaccination, successfully reaching thousands of children. This innovative approach led to significant improvements in malnutrition treatment and vaccination coverage, demonstrating the critical role of community engagement, collaboration, and integrated health interventions in crisis settings. Sabin, in collaboration with Washington State University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Kenya Medical Research Institute, is conducting a study funded by the Wellcome Trust to improve cholera vaccination strategies. The research focuses on the immunogenicity and effectiveness of Euvichol-S oral cholera vaccine in Nairobi, particularly in high-risk areas like Mukuru. It includes a randomized controlled trial exploring optimal dosing schedules and an evaluation of Kenya's first preventative cholera vaccination campaign. To learn more, click the link below.

Deadline Extended: Boost Community Annual Survey

The Boost Community’s Annual Survey* is still live, and we want to hear from you!

Last year’s survey provided valuable insights into community engagement, program impact, member priorities, and gender-related experiences. This year, we’re building on those findings and aiming to gather even more actionable data—particularly on gender-based barriers and strategies for overcoming them.

Your perspective matters! Don’t miss the opportunity to shape the future of the Boost Community. Submit your responses by the extended deadline on March 12.

We look forward to hearing from you and encourage you to share your suggestions with the Boost team!

*Note that five survey completers will be selected to win $50!
