IA2030 In-Depth Review on Access to Immunization in Middle-Income Countries

Published on June 27, 2024

Children in middle-income countries, which do not receive support, lack the necessary immunization protection. Annually, 66 million children, representing half of the world's newborns, are born in these nations, and 25% of them do not receive all essential vaccines. Achieving 90% coverage of the vaccines targeted by the Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) in these countries could save tens of thousands of lives each year and significantly improve children's health. This brief examines immunization performance in middle-income countries from 2019 to 2022, illustrating progress towards IA2030 Impact Goals and Strategic Priority indicators. It also identifies four key obstacles hindering progress and highlights major initiatives that support these countries. To access the brief, click the link below!
