World Health Worker Week Toolkit
World Health Worker Week is April 3-7 2023!
We encourage you to use this opportunity to call on finance and health ministers, country and global leaders, governments, policymakers, and donors to designate long-term funding and develop policies to guarantee that health workers are protected and supported.
Calling all health workers - add your voice to the "Invest in Me!" campaign!
Film a short (15 seconds max) video of yourself, using this prompt: “I’m a [type of health worker]. Invest in me for ________________. Fill in the blank with one reason to invest in you and your fellow health workers. For example: universal health coverage, emergency response, gender equity, strong economies, climate resilience, etc. See the guidance document for more info. Upload your video here, then share your video on social media with the hashtags #ProtectInvestTogether and #WHWWeek.
Below are more key activities you can participate in to support #WHWWeek:
- Share the Top Policy Recommendations to Invest in Health Workers.
- Join the conversation on Twitter and other platforms by using the hashtags #ProtectInvestTogether and #WHWWeek. Use the World Health Worker Week Toolkit with suggested posts and key messages.
- The Fifth Global Forum on Human Resources for Health is the same week as World Health Worker Week. Make sure to register for the Forum here and participate in the virtual session, Are We at a Turning Point for Health Worker Advocacy?, on April 5 at 9:00 am CEST. This session will convene leading advocates enacting change for health workers at the national, regional, and global levels. Experts – including health workers – will discuss next steps to advance a global advocacy movement for health workers.
