New Podcast Series: Documentation of COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign in India
The state of Madhya Pradesh in India has completed administering two doses of vaccine to its 55 million adult population and is in the process of vaccinating all those below the age of 18. The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) has just released a new podcast and documentary series that looks to answer several questions related to Madhya Pradesh's ongoing efforts to get their communities vaccinated: Will the vaccines be available as per the needs of the country? Is there adequate transport and storage capacity? Can the required manpower be trained in time? How will vaccine hesitancy be addressed? How will the vaccines reach far-flung regions?
In this podcast series Dr. Raj Shankar Ghosh, Senior Advisor, Vaccines Delivery, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation interviews the state-level bureaucrats and sub-state authorities on the implementation of the COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign and the unique Public Participation model of the state. This podcast series includes 5 episodes that cover topics such as cold chain management, community mobilization, civic partnership, governance mechanisms and the importance of data. Guest speakers share their experience of running the vaccination drive at a large-scale level, the challenges they faced and the innovations done by the state to accommodate its diversity.
