National Immunization Strategy Webinar Materials
The new WHO National Immunization Strategy (NIS) guidance focuses on more informed, country owned, and sustainable decision-making and the prioritization of interventions needed to reach zero dose children and communities (beyond the previous GVAP/cMYP target of 90% coverage). It also supports a dialogue between Ministry of Health and Finance leads to ensure an agreed financial envelope is available to fund NIS key strategic priorities. In addition, there is greater emphasis on a broad and inclusive dialogue at the country level and greater integration with the health care system beyond immunization.
Updated guidance to support countries in the development of National Immunization Strategies (NIS) is now available in English, French and Russian here. The Guidance is accompanied by a new and simplified costing approach to support the NIS process, NIS.COST, as well as guidance on Annual Operational Planning (AOPs).
